Is it feasible to renovate and expand the facility by adding a span to the exterior wall of the air compressor building to create a combustible gas compressor building? Is there a regulatory basis?
Our previous gas station was located near the air compressor station, but there was still nearly ten meters between the wall of the pressure chamber and the air compressor station. The pressurization system for combustible gases is usually positive-pressure (positive pressure is required both before and after the machine to prevent air from being drawn in due to negative pressure and causing an explosion). Being too close might make it difficult to meet safety assessments and inspections. GB6222 (Safety Regulations for Industrial Gas), GB50058 (Electrical Construction), and GBJ19 (Heating and Ventilation) can be referred to.
GB50183 \"Code for Fire Protection Design of Oil and Gas Engineering\" 6.2.2 Combustible gas compressors shall not be installed in the same room as air compressors. 6.3.1.1 Combustible gas compressors should be installed outdoors or in a covered structure.
It is feasible to carry out modifications and expansions by adding a span to the exterior wall of the air compressor building to construct a combustible gas compressor building. However, this is not recommended. Compressors for flammable gases should be installed in accordance with standards and specifications such as GB50160, \"Design and Engineering Applications of Pressure Pipelines\", \"Design of Petrochemical Pipelines\", and SH 3011. The regulations clearly state that it is not allowed to arrange them in the same room.
It is acceptable to use one span, in accordance with the GB50160 standards; however, a fire wall should be installed between the natural gas compressor and the air compressor, and the air compressor should be located outside Zone 2.
