Installation of the reactors in the LDPE/EVA unit completed. In October 2019, the installation of the reactor system for the LDPE/EVA unit as part of the YuNengHua project was successfully completed. This not only provided valuable experience for the installation of the high-pressure pipelines and other high-pressure components in this unit, but also laid a foundation for the smooth progress of the overall installation work.
The reactor is a key equipment in the LDPE/EVA plant and the heart of the entire facility. The system consists of a reactor preheater, a reactor, and an aftercooler; it features 198 high-pressure pipes and 228 connection points. Given that the reaction pressure reaches as high as 3000 kilograms, all connections are made using lens washers and high-strength alloy steel bolts. A fixed preload is applied during tightening using specialized hydraulic tensioning tools, thereby ensuring effective sealing at the connection points. It is understood that the lifting work of the high-pressure pipes in the reactor system of the LDPE/EVA plant began on September 20. To ensure achievement of the target deadline set for this installation campaign, all parties involved in the project worked together closely and continuously optimized the installation process. From the transportation of the high-pressure pipes, their lifting into place, and adjustment of their vertical alignment, to the cleaning, installation, and torque tightening of the lens pads and bolts, the entire process was completed in 35 days – 5 days ahead of the target deadline and 10 days ahead of the timeline estimated by the manufacturer.
