As the title suggests, I welcome all fellow sailors to share their opinions and engage in further discussions, so that we can learn together and improve together. My comment: From the photos, the pipe is orange in color, close to yellow; it seems to be a gas pipeline. There are likely 8 bolts used, so no static discharge bonding is necessary. Additionally, it’s important to check how the installation is designed, as specific requirements for this are outlined in the pipe diagrams. Another point is that during construction, it is necessary to verify the material composition of the welded components and the main pipes. Also, welding should not be carried out on existing butt welds. If it truly involves pressure pipes, this approach helps to shift responsibility away from the original design agency, as the party in question takes on the quality responsibilities itself. The pipeline engineers who signed off on the design drawings must be smiling inwardly at such a convenient solution. Therefore, in similar situations in the future, it is important to first check the drawings and consult the original design agency to find out why certain elements were not included in the initial design; they should be asked to provide an explanation. If there was a design error or if the design was done first while the standards came later, then a design change should be requested instead of proceeding with construction blindly. The two situations mentioned are those where there is a design error, and those where the design was completed first but the standards were established later – in both cases, a change is needed
