Several key units for a large-scale coal chemical project in Yunnan have been awarded contracts. From August 1st to 4th, several core units for Yunnan Jiehua Lvyuan Chemical Co., Ltd.’s 500,000-ton synthetic ammonia and related projects were awarded contracts. The details are as follows: Announcement of candidates for the sulfur recovery unit’s process package and patented (proprietary) equipment procurement project: First candidate: Keyang Environmental Engineering (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. Announcement of candidates for the high-tower water-soluble compound fertilizer unit’s process package procurement project (second round): First candidate: Linyi Ruixin Fertilizer Technology Service Co., Ltd. Announcement of candidates for the conversion unit’s process package and patented (proprietary) equipment procurement project: First candidate: Nanjing Dunxian Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. On July 3rd, the process package for the ammonium nitrate unit sowie the procurement of patented (proprietary) equipment for Yunnan Jiehua Lvyuan Chemical Co., Ltd.’s 500,000-ton synthetic ammonia and related projects were also awarded contracts; Transformation unit process package, procurement of patented (proprietary) equipment ; Procurement of process package for low-temperature methanol washing unit ; Procurement of gasification unit process packages and patented (proprietary) equipment ; Procurement of process packages for raw coal pre-drying equipment, as well as patented (proprietary) equipment ; Procurement of sulfur recovery unit process packages and patented (proprietary) equipment ; Process package for liquid nitrogen washing unit, procurement of patented (proprietary) equipment ; Tendering has been launched for various projects, including the process packages for ammonia synthesis plants and the procurement of patented (proprietary) equipment.
On July 8, Yunnan Jiehua Lvyuan Chemical Co., Ltd. was officially established in Kaiyuan City, Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan Province, marking a new phase in the relocation, transformation, and development of Yunnan Jiehua Clean Energy Development Co., Ltd., which is under the control of Yunnan Coal Group – with the construction of a facility capable of producing 500,000 tons of synthetic ammonia as well as related downstream projects. Yunnan Jiehua Lvyuan Chemical Co., Ltd. is the main contractor for the construction of a 500,000-ton synthetic ammonia plant and related downstream projects. Construction contents: Relocate and upgrade a synthetic ammonia plant with an annual capacity of 500,000 tons; for downstream products of synthetic ammonia: a nitric acid plant with an annual capacity of 540,000 tons (by relocating the existing 270,000-ton/year nitric acid plant and building a new one with the same capacity), an ammonium nitrate plant with an annual capacity of 450,000 tons (by relocating the existing 200,000-ton/year ammonium nitrate plant and building a new one with a capacity of 250,000 tons), a urea plant with an annual capacity of 500,000 tons, an ammonium nitrate phosphate water-soluble fertilizer plant with an annual capacity of 300,000 tons, a urea-based water-soluble fertilizer plant with an annual capacity of 300,000 tons, and a dimethyl carbonate plant with an annual capacity of 100,000 tons (for use in materials and batteries). Supporting public and auxiliary facilities shall be constructed. Construction location: Xiaolongtan Chemical Industrial Park, Mengzi Economic and Technological Development Zone, Kaiyuan City, Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan Province. Project investment: 729,543.00 million yuan. Technical features: The core technology makes use of advanced pulverized coal gasification technology, which results in a significantly higher gasification efficiency compared to traditional processes; the carbon conversion rate reaches 98%, thereby effectively addressing the challenge of efficient utilization of low-grade lignite. By utilizing autonomous cleaning technology, energy consumption is reduced by about 30%, which is significantly better than the **industry benchmark. Environmental protection measures: Regarding waste gas treatment, the waste gases generated by various devices are processed using methods such as bag filtering, low-nitrogen combustion, and SCR denitrification, depending on their properties. These gases are then emitted through exhaust stacks at different heights to ensure compliance with relevant standards. Wastewater treatment follows the principles of water conservation, separation of clean and polluted water, separation of rainwater and wastewater, treatment based on water quality differences, and reuse of water. A wastewater pretreatment unit is installed within the facility, while the entire plant is equipped with a wastewater treatment station and a reclaimed water station. The wastewater treatment station is designed to handle 300 m³/h of wastewater, using a treatment process that combines pretreatment, an improved SBR system, and a denitrification filter. Significance of the project: It represents an important step taken by Yunnan Nengtou Group and Yunnan Coal Group to implement relevant strategic plans. As the leading enterprise in the Honghe Prefecture integration hub, it will supply the park with stable basic chemical raw materials and help attract the development of high-end electronic chemicals industry clusters. It is expected that after completion and operation by 2028, the annual output value will be 4 billion yuan, generating profits and taxes of 900 million yuan. It can also leverage the China-Laos Railway and the Pan-Asian Railway Network to reach markets such as Laos, Vietnam, and **, thereby deepening industrial cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
