According to China Petroleum Network (correspondents: Wang Jiayin, Yuan Xiaobo, Zhang Youwei), on November 28th, the first batch of **-level metrological technical specifications, namely the “Calibration Specifications for Natural Gamma Calibrators Used in the Oil Industry” and the “Calibration Specifications for Compensated Neutron Calibrators Used in the Oil Industry”, were officially approved for issuance by the State Administration for Market Regulation. These specifications were developed under the leadership of CNPC Logging, in collaboration with relevant units from Sinopec and CNOOC. They represent the first **-level technical standards issued in the field of oil logging metrology in China. Natural gamma and compensated neutron logging are key techniques for identifying formation lithology and calculating reservoir porosity. The accuracy of the values provided by the calibrators used in these methods directly determines the reliability of data related to oil and gas exploration and development, and it serves as the foundation for ensuring exploration precision and operational safety. For a long time, due to the lack of unified **grade calibration standards, it has been difficult to effectively compare and evaluate logging data from different regions, which has hindered the overall improvement of the industry’s technical capabilities. To address this industry challenge, CNPC Logging began formal work on formulating relevant standards in 2022, and collaborated with various entities in the industry chain to establish a collaborative mechanism for \"integrated measurement support involving industry, academia, research, and application.\" During the compilation process, the project team organized 9 national technical seminars and carried out 21 rounds of text revisions. Through comprehensive analysis and refinement, the scientific accuracy, rigor, and broad applicability of the standard’s content were ensured.
