The supply and return main connections are provided to ensure a minimum flow rate for the circulation pump when all water usage points are closed, thereby safeguarding the pump. A balance valve is used to maintain the pressure difference between the supply and return pipes.
I have a question: why are the pipes at the joints smaller than the main pipe?
