Hualu Engineering signs contract for EPC general contracting of Yanchang Petroleum Yulin high-end new materials project, with a total investment of 6.868 billion yuan

China Chemical Engineering Hualu Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Hualu Company”) and Yulin Coal Chemical Company, which is part of the Yan’an Petroleum Group, held a signing ceremony recently to formally conclude the EPC general contract for the auxiliary works in Phase 1 of the ethanol and acetic acid downstream products project. This signing marks a solid and crucial step forward in the transformation of Yulin’s coal chemical industry from traditional sectors to high-end new material fields. The project is located in the coal chemistry industrial zone of Yuheng Industrial Park, with a total investment of 6.868 billion yuan and a total land area of 53.96 hectares. It plans to build a range of high-end facilities, including 300,000 tons per year of vinyl acetate, 30,000 tons per year of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, 50,000 tons per year of vinyl oil, 50,000 tons per year of α-olefins, and 100,000 tons per year of polyolefin elastomers (POE). At the same time, utility systems, auxiliary production facilities, and infrastructure in the area in front of the factory will be constructed to create a complete industrial support system. A relevant official from Yulin Coal Chemical Company explained that the project builds on the existing methanol and acetic acid production capabilities in the Yuheng Industrial Park. Adhering to the development strategy of \"completing the supply chain, strengthening it, and extending it,\" it focuses on the field of high-end new materials, striving to create the only full industrial chain in China that goes from coal to POE. This initiative has successfully filled the market gap for high-end, sophisticated coal chemical new products in the Northwest region. The implementation of this project will help enterprises overcome the bottleneck of low added value in traditional coal chemical products, and at the same time assist Yulin City in building a **-level modern coal chemical industry cluster, thereby enhancing the regional industry’s core competitiveness. The products resulting from this project, such as vinyl acetate, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, and POE, can be widely used in areas such as photovoltaic encapsulation, vehicle lightweighting, medical supplies, and high-end packaging. They will help to address the issue of China’s reliance on imported high-end polyolefin materials and enhance the country’s ability to rely on domestic sources for such advanced materials. The project will serve as a model for the comprehensive upgrading of the \"coal–alcohol–acid–new materials\" value chain in Yulin City, injecting strong new momentum into the high-quality development of the energy and chemical industry in northern Shaanxi and helping to improve the efficiency and quality of the regional economy.
