The horizontal distance from the foundation line inside the fire dike to the outer wall of the vertical storage tank should not be less than half of the tank wall height. What does tank wall height refer to? It refers to the height of the liquid (i.e., the height of the effective volume?) ) Or the height of the straight section of the tank, including or excluding the cone or vault top, and what about the height of the upper head? Which provision has an explanation? ? Thank you!
It should be the height of the tank’s cylinder, in my opinion.
It should be the height of the tank’s cylinder. The loading certainly won’t go into the head, so it won’t add to that height. Actually, there is a mathematical basis for determining this distance, but I’ve forgotten where I saw it. That is, if the cylinder leaks, it is calculated that the liquid will not flow more than this distance.
Clause 4.2.5 of GB50160
Section 6.2.13 of GB50160-2008 and section 6.5.2 of GB50074-2014 specify that it is half of the tank wall thickness.
