There are no requirements specified in the fire separation distance codes. When designing the pipe gallery, it is necessary to take into account the foundation of the factory building; the foundation of the pipe gallery must not collide with it. Additionally, some of the pipes in the pipe gallery need to lead in or out of the factory building and up to the pipe gallery. Generally, cut-off valves should be installed on such pipes, which means that a valve operation platform is also required. As a result, the layout of the pipe gallery usually isn’t right next to the factory building.
