Can the zero-level tanks for paraffin oil and crude oil be located in the same tank farm? The volume of each tank is 4,200 cubic meters; the diameter of the storage tanks is 31,192, and the height of the tank walls is 5,100. The distance between two adjacent tanks is 15 meters. Does it meet the requirements?

The tanks can be placed together, but the distance between the two adjacent tanks (the clear space between their outer walls) should be equal to the radius of the larger tank. In your case, since both tanks are the same size, it should be 31192/2 = 15596, or 15.6 meters. You’re currently short by 0.6 meters; it’s likely that the design team estimated a distance of 30 meters initially, and when the detailed design was completed, the tanks turned out to be slightly larger. To be honest, it’s not a big issue, but if you encounter strict fire safety inspections, you won’t pass. If an accident occurs, such as a fire in one of the crude oil tanks that spreads to the adjacent tanks as well, then that 0.6-meter difference could prove problematic. . . . So, if it can be changed, then change it. Be careful, and you’ll avoid problems for years~~~ Over a decade ago, I encountered a similar situation; I remember the difference was even smaller than what the original poster mentioned – probably less than 0.3 meters. At that time, the containers were already ready, so what could I do? The owner had a wall built to symbolically separate the two tanks, and an additional opening was created next to the tank area to facilitate access for operators; it was extremely awkward, but at least the fire department was able to get in.
