I. Selection of air conditioning and refrigeration units for the clean area: The area of the clean area is approximately 1000 m², with a cleanliness level of Class 10000 (ISO Grade 7). Water-cooled screw or centrifugal refrigeration units are generally recommended; air-cooled heat pump units can also be used. Consider the following factors when making a choice: 1. The size of the cooling load (typically, the cooling load per square meter in a clean area is around 250–400 W/m², but this value needs to be determined based on actual conditions) ; 2. Temperature and humidity requirements: For Class 10000, the temperature is generally 22±2°C, with a relative humidity of around 45% to 60% ; 3. Meet all the cooling loads, including those generated by equipment inside the plant (process heat), personnel, lighting, fresh air, and heat transfer through the building’s enclosure ; 4. Take into account both the initial investment cost and the long-term energy efficiency operating costs. II. Methods for estimating the air conditioning cooling capacity in clean areas: The cooling load in clean areas generally consists of the following components: 1. Cooling load from the building envelope: The heat transfer through walls, roofs, and floors ; 2. Heat dissipation load of indoor equipment: The heat generated by the operation of production and electrical equipment is generally determined based on the equipment’s operational parameters ; 3. Lighting equipment load: Lighting power × Coefficient of simultaneous operation of equipment ; 4. Human heat dissipation load: Number of people × Heat dissipation per person (usually 75–120 W/person) ; 5. Fresh air cooling load: Fresh air volume × air density × specific enthalpy difference ; 6. Heat generated during the operation of fans, motors, etc., and other additional heat loads. Rough estimation example: In a typical CLASS10000 cleanroom, the cooling load per unit area (including equipment, lighting, personnel, building envelopes, and a certain amount of fresh air demand) is generally between 250 and 400 W/m²; a conservative value should be adopted. Estimated using the intermediate value of 350 W/m²: Cooling capacity ≈ 1000 m² × 350 W/m² = 350 kW. Taking into account a certain safety margin (usually 15%~20%): The designed cooling capacity is approximately 350 × 1.2 ≈ 420 kW. The above is a simplified estimation method; for specific projects, more detailed calculations are required to determine the cooling capacity and select an appropriate equipment capacity. .
