Is a GGH used when thermal power plants discharge flue gas after denitration and desulfurization? Since it is understood that the cost of GGH is relatively high and its effectiveness is not very good, are there any better technologies? (Smoke tower integrated? Use anti-corrosion materials directly for the chimney? MGGH? ) Is there a professional available to answer?
GGH is something from 10 years ago; it’s not used these days as chimneys are now equipped with anti-corrosion measures. This thing is extremely clogged; having the smoke tower integrated is practically the norm
The use of GGH is primarily based on two considerations: one is to raise the temperature of the flue gas after wet treatment, in order to avoid the corrosion-prone temperature range corresponding to the acid dew point; Second, increase the flue gas temperature to meet the so-called standards for preventing \"white smoke\" as required by local environmental regulations. So you need to first understand the purpose of your GGH. If it’s for the first reason, then the current anti-corrosion technologies, or even the use of non-metallic chimneys, can fully meet that requirement. If it’s the second reason, then the goal is to increase the temperature of the flue gas. If you have an abundance of steam but no way to utilize it, a steam heater can be used for this purpose; the investment required for such a device is lower than that for a GGH. If your steam supply is limited, then a GGH should be used to make use of the heat from the flue gas.
