As previously explained, expansion joints are new products used to connect equipment such as pumps, valves, and pipes to pipelines. They are fastened together with bolts to form a single unit, and they allow for a certain amount of movement, which facilitates installation. It can withstand the axial pressure of the pipeline. This allows for adjustments based on the actual installation dimensions during installation and maintenance; it not only improves work efficiency but also provides some protection for pipeline equipment such as pumps and valves. Suitable for transporting seawater, fresh water, hot and cold water, drinking water, domestic wastewater, crude oil, fuel oil, lubricating oil, refined oil, air, gas, steam at temperatures not exceeding 250 degrees, as well as granular and powdery materials. Therefore, it is also quite common for expanders and valves to be used together. As a supplier of expansion joints, Jingbo Cloud Commerce reminds everyone to pay attention to the following ten points: 1. Valves with threaded or flanged connections must be installed with them closed, and the installation direction of the valves should be determined based on the flow direction of the medium. 2. For valves on horizontal pipe sections, the handwheel should be installed with its face upward; in special cases, it can also be installed horizontally. 3. When the valve is installed together with a double-flange expansion joint, in the case of horizontal pipes, its bolt holes should be arranged on either side of the vertical center; in the case of vertical pipes, the bolt holes should be placed in locations that facilitate operation. 4. When aligning valves and flanges, it is strictly prohibited to strike their sealing surfaces or valve components with hammers or other tools; during welding, care must be taken to prevent arcing from damaging the flange sealing surfaces. 5. The operating mechanism and transmission device of the valve should operate smoothly, provide accurate indications, and show no signs of sticking. 6. The installation height and location of the valves should facilitate maintenance; the height is generally 1.2 m. When the distance from the center of the valve to the ground reaches 1.8 m, it is advisable to arrange them in groups and provide an operating platform. The clear distance between the valve handwheels on the pipeline should not be less than 100 mm. 7. The control valve should be installed vertically on a horizontal pipeline, with isolation valves on both sides and a bypass pipe provided. Before the pipeline pressure test, it is advisable to install temporary short pipes of the same length first; they are then installed permanently after the pressure test is successful. 8. After the valves are installed, they should be stored properly; the valves must not be opened or closed arbitrarily. If multiple tasks are carried out simultaneously, protective covers should be used. 9. Flange connections must maintain coaxiality; the center deviation of the bolt holes shall not exceed 5% of the hole diameter, and free movement of the bolts must be ensured. 10. The double-flange limit expansion joint and the valve should use bolts of the same specification, with the installation direction being consistent; the bolts should be tightened symmetrically, with even force applied and an appropriate level of tightness.
