This table screenshot is HG20570; I don’t understand it. Is the pressure percentage equal to design pressure divided by release pressure? Is that correct? If I set the design pressure of my storage tank at 2 MPa and choose a safety valve for fire protection, then would the discharge pressure of the safety valve be P=2/1.21=1.65 MPa?
It’s multiplication, right? 2X1.21=2.42MPa
In this case, the pressure being released is greater than the design pressure. If it exceeds the design pressure, the container will explode before the safety valve has a chance to open; thus, the safety valve serves no purpose at all. I’m not sure if this understanding is correct

No, the maximum set pressure of this safety valve is still equal to the design pressure. The client needs to understand what the maximum set pressure and the maximum discharge pressure mean. The set pressure refers to the pressure at which the safety valve starts to operate, while the discharge pressure refers to the inlet pressure when the safety valve has opened to its maximum extent~~
“The proportional relationship between the values of the maximum discharge pressure and the maximum set pressure, and the design pressure (or maximum allowable operating pressure) of the container being protected. ”Note the note below the table: the design pressure is in the denominator~~
