What should be done when encountering substances with no property data in a process? For example, what about the binary interaction parameters of substances in electrolytes, or those substances that contain groups not included in the Unfac estimation method?
Practice is the sole criterion for testing truth; conduct experiments.
But dealing with material properties is such a time-consuming task; is there any shortcut?

I know about experiments. But these experiments are all conducted on a small scale; development and design will certainly take place on a scale that is at least one order of magnitude larger. So what to do in such cases?

Chemical engineering is, after all, a discipline based on experiments.
I wonder how the original poster solved it; I’m facing this same problem now
