Hello everyone, for atmospheric pressure storage tanks equipped with emergency relief valves, will these valves get clogged if the medium stored is one that tends to solidify easily? Is heat tracing required? If heat tracing is required, how is it carried out on site? Thank you
Section 5.1.10 of SH3007-2014 requires that the vent valves and flame arresters of storage tanks have anti-freezing functions or that anti-freezing measures be taken; it is logical to assume that the relief valves should also be designed accordingly!
Heating is required; it may freeze in winter
The medium tends to condense, and for safety reasons, pressure relief valves must have anti-clogging measures.
Since it is a medium that tends to solidify easily, heat tracing is advisable.

Heat tracing is necessary; if it’s blocked, serious problems will occur. Just wrap the steam pipes around both sides of the valve. Additionally, after the heat tracing is installed, it is recommended to regularly inspect the valves.
The medium is a thickening medium, and the emergency relief valve may get clogged; therefore, heat tracing is required.
A jacket is installed outside the pipe, which is turned on in winter to prevent freezing. Our company has never encountered a need for this. The materials are different
