How is the operating rate of equipment in intermittent production determined? I need to determine the equipment operation rate in order to decide on the flow rates and configurations for the utility systems (such as circulating water, steam, heat transfer oil, compressed air, and refrigerants)
Intermittent operation is calculated based on the maximum operating condition.
Personal opinion: Calculate the operating time based on the total duration; even though the equipment is shut down, the necessary utility systems are still in operation. There’s nothing to do about it – this is just the way things are under such conditions
