Green hydrogen production process refers to the process of producing hydrogen through water electrolysis using renewable energy sources; it is a key technological approach for achieving carbon neutrality goals. The main technical approaches include alkaline water electrolysis (AWE), proton exchange membrane water electrolysis (PEM), solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC), and anion exchange membrane water electrolysis (AEM). The electrolysis process takes place in an electrolytic cell, where water molecules are split into hydrogen and oxygen under the influence of direct current. Green hydrogen has a high purity (>99.97%) and near-zero carbon emissions, making it an ideal carrier for clean energy that can be used in industries such as chemicals, transportation, and energy storage.
