I’ve seen various versions of the processes for alcohol distillation described in different books, and each version uses a different name for it; this has confused me. I wonder if they’re all essentially the same thing, with only different names I’m looking for an answer. Also, I saw that an alcohol distillation process involves several tower units in sequence: a crude distillation tower, a low-boiling-point tower, a rectification tower, a methanol removal tower, and a high-quality product tower. I would like to know whether the low-boiling-point tower mentioned is the aldehyde removal tower ? Generally, isn’t it composed of a crude distillation tower, an aldehyde removal tower, and a distillation tower? I earnestly ask experts for some guidance
