2017 Work Summary: Oil and Gas Storage and Transportation Design (Statistics completed)

Over the past year, with the care and support of my leaders and colleagues, I have gained a deeper understanding of design work, taking a solid step forward in my life. Below, I summarize my work and studies over the past year as follows: First, grounded in theory, I strive to improve my ideological awareness and become a qualified Party member. As a grassroots Party member, I set an example by always maintaining the advanced nature and purity of a Party member, and I actively strive to get closer to the Party organization. Since starting work, I have been assisting the head of the XX Party group at the design institute in organizing each Party group meeting, taking careful notes, and promptly reporting the outcomes of these meetings to the institute’s Party branch. I have written more than a dozen articles on this topic, which have been published on the company’s website. II. Focusing on one’s duties and starting with small tasks, strive to improve overall work capabilities. From January 2017 to August 2017, I was part of the XXX project team, where my main responsibilities included PDMS piping work in atmospheric pressure tank areas, as well as process design and PDMS piping work for liquefied hydrocarbon tank areas. Working on this project gave me a deep understanding of PROⅡ software, the calculation and selection of safety valves, the calculation of flare backpressure, the calculation of water injection pumps for liquefied hydrocarbon storage tanks, and the design of water injection systems. By participating in the owner’s bidding process, I gained an understanding of the scope of supply and specific requirements from equipment manufacturers when preparing inquiry documents. In September 2017, I went to XX as the on-site design representative for the XXX project to assist with the on-site construction. As a representative of the company’s image, spending a month immersed in the busy routines of owners, supervisors, construction teams, equipment manufacturers, and design firms has taught me how to avoid minor flaws in the design process in order to produce better final documents ； On how to communicate more effectively with property owners and construction contractors ； I have gained some understanding of how to safeguard the company’s interests while meeting the client’s requirements, without compromising the design quality or the construction schedule; this has provided me with experience for my future design work and on-site services. III. Team collaboration and concerted efforts to contribute to the company’s development. Over the course of this year, with the care and support of the company’s leaders and colleagues, and especially under the guidance of my mentor, the sweat I shed and the effort I put in have led to an improvement in my professional skills. No pain, no gain; in my future design career, I will keep working hard to write a glorious chapter for the company’s success and for realizing my own value. IV. Existing Problems and Future Improvement Directions In my work, I have also become acutely aware of my own shortcomings; there is still a significant gap between my English proficiency and the requirements that the company’s internationalization strategy imposes on English skills ； Further study and exploration are needed regarding the use of software such as PROⅡ, Pipephase, and Aspen ； I am not yet very familiar with the standards commonly used in the design of storage and transportation systems, and my understanding of them is not thorough enough ； There is a lack of understanding regarding the balance between work and rest.
