A liquefied petroleum gas filling station is to be designed in southern China; there are two proposals regarding the layout of the fire pump room and the diesel generator room, and I am seeking advice from experts. (Pump room: 60 m2, generator room: 36 m2) Option 1: 1. Is it feasible to combine the fire pump room and the diesel generator room into one building? 2. If feasible, should it be a factory building or a residential building? 3. If classified by factory building type according to the fire hazard category as Class C (assuming diesel with a flash point of over 60), and considering that the pump room is semi-underground, in accordance with Article 3.7.2 of the Building Code GB50016-2014, underground factory buildings with an area of over 50 square meters must have two evacuation exits. In accordance with Article 3.7.6 of the Building Code GB50016-2014, evacuation stairs shall be enclosed staircases. 2 enclosed staircases? OMG, it looks awkward no matter how you look at it. Option 2: 1. Combine the fire pump room with the diesel generator room, classify it as a civil building; according to Article 5.5.5 of GB50016-2014, an underground equipment room of 200 square meters can have only one evacuation exit. However, civil buildings are only divided into public buildings and residential buildings; it seems that they can only be classified as public buildings. In that case, accessible restrooms would need to be installed, but that doesn’t seem like something we need. Moreover, civil buildings require insulation. Does a generator room + pump room also need insulation? It’s not cost-effective nor necessary; the key point is that energy conservation in civil buildings must be registered locally, and the procedures are complicated. We tend to opt for Option 1, but how can we address the above issues? Thank you all for your valuable suggestions
