What does this graph on the PID diagram represent, everyone?

I have been studying other people’s PID diagrams recently, and came across two programmable logic control diagrams; I don’t understand what these diagrams represent. I would be extremely grateful if anyone who knows the answer could help me out! This is one of them; the programmable logic control symbol in the diagram is the diamond shape with an “I” inside. What does that specifically mean? There’s also this diagram showing a part of a pump, where the programmable logic control symbol is the diamond shape with both “I” and “E” inside. What do those symbols mean? I hope some friends who know the answer can help clarify this. Thank you!
The ‘I’ in a diamond shape denotes a symbol indicating that interlock is carried out by a DCS or PLC, or it can be understood as minor control.
