2\" TUBE pipe

This post was last edited by sybzzu999 on 2018-3-21 09:08. Has anyone used 2\" TUBE tubes? There is a project that requires 2\" TUBE pipes; upon consulting the manufacturer, it was stated that TUBE pipes are generally only available in 1\" size.
Who said that? I just checked Swagelok’s samples; their stainless steel seamless ferrules go up to 2". The codes are SS-T32-S-188-20 and SS-T32-S-134-20, with two wall thicknesses.
I think whether it’s a tube or a pipe depends on where it’s used, not on its size
Tubes should be thinner and used for hydraulic fluid or compressed air; pipes can be used for anything and may be thicker.
I talked to Swagelok’s sales representative today; it’s no problem to use TUBE pipes up to two inches in diameter, but the corresponding valves are not available.
