Why is liquid nitrogen washing added to the upper part of the flash tower?
Liquid nitrogen is inert; using it for washing does not involve any chemical reaction with the substance being washed, and the entire process is a physical one.
Won’t nitrogen be present in the delivered carbon monoxide gas, affecting its purity?
I’m saying that washing carbon monoxide with liquid nitrogen doesn’t cause a chemical reaction with it; look at the question itself.
Due to limitations in professional perspective, it is difficult to infer this effect without a PFD.
