For pneumatic pressure tests with pressures greater than 0.6 MPa, codes recommend using hydraulic tests as a substitute. So the question is: if the pressure used in a pneumatic leak test is very high, is there any way to use an alternative?
The pressure for hydraulic testing also has limits; not all pressures can be used as substitutes.
The safety level for hydrostatic testing is high; it must be carried out in accordance with the relevant standards, and in some cases the involvement of regulatory authorities is required. A pressure of 0.6 MPa falls within the category of low pressure.
Airtightness testing and pressure testing are two different concepts. A pneumatic test can be replaced by a hydraulic test, but a gas-tightness test cannot be replaced by a hydraulic test.
You say the hydrostatic test pressure is quite low, right? I’ve carried out hydrostatic tests up to 25 MPa, and also airtightness tests at 15 MPa

A gas-tightness test is not the same as a pressure test; the former is a type of leak detection test, and generally the test value equals the design pressure; The latter is a strength test, and the typical test value is equal to the design pressure * 1.15
The airtightness test can be replaced by ammonia testing and helium testing, etc
