Liquid ammonia is used as a cooling medium. What material is generally used for pipeline transportation?
Ammonia has a certain corrosive effect, and carbonized ammonia is even more corrosive. The corrosion of copper is relatively strong, so copper pipeline valves must not be used. Steel is relatively poor. If the water content is high, carbon steel can be used. The best material is of course 304 stainless steel. Seamless steel pipes are selected for pipelines.

The temperature is not explained clearly. Liquid ammonia is used as a refrigerant. Low temperature is generated only after evaporation. Liquid ammonia is generally 30-40°C. Carbon steel and low alloy steel can be used. Depending on the temperature after evaporation, low-temperature carbon steel can be used.
After ammonia is vaporized, the volume becomes larger, and the flow rate of ammonia is small, so the pipe diameter will become larger.
Not bad, good, come in and learn* study * !
I have seen an ammonia cooler washed with low-temperature methanol. The ammonia inlet pipe at the bottom is very thin and the gas phase pipe at the top is very thick.

It is acceptable to use GB/T8163 20# steel in the cold storage design specifications. At low temperatures, it is generally low temperature and low stress working conditions.
