Dear seniors, regarding the establishment of the vacuum system for this condenser, this is my understanding: first, the liquid level in the condenser is set, and then the condensing pump is started. The water from this pump exchanges heat with the extractor (of the second stage). Here I have a question – the gas drawn out by the extractor exchanges heat with the water from the condensing pump, causing the gas to condense and thus creating a certain level of vacuum. When the waste steam enters the condenser, it cools down, resulting in a working vacuum. But during the vacuum creation process, if the liquid level is not established first and pumping starts without turning on the pump, can a vacuum be created? Where is the core of this vacuum established? I can’t understand it; I hope it can be explained. Thank you! !
This is a concept from engineering thermodynamics! If you think about it this way, it becomes clear: the given condenser space is filled with steam. If there is no air leakage, then there is no need to create a vacuum; sufficient cooling water for heat exchange will be enough to establish a vacuum inside the condenser! You need to understand what is being evacuated……
Industrial steam turbines or for thermal power plants?
My understanding is that at first, what is evacuated is air or nitrogen used for replacement; the vacuum level in the condenser isn’t very high at first, and a vacuum pump is used to assist. Once the condenser reaches the desired vacuum level, it can operate on its own. The role of the vacuum pump is to provide assistance – is this correct? I’d like to confirm one thing: both the evacuator and the condenser serve to create a vacuum, they’re just used at different times, right?
The vacuum drawn in the condenser removes the leaked air and uncondensed vapor! The vacuum itself is created by the condensation within the condenser!
