What specifications should be followed for the exhaust gas treatment systems designed to absorb Class A substances, that is, the absorption tower systems used to handle the exhaust gases emitted during packaging? When the gas concentration is below 5%, what distance is required between such systems and Class A processing equipment?
This post was last edited by Hansonwen on 2018-8-29 at 08:42. Currently, there is no clear definition regarding the fire hazard classification of the recovery and treatment equipment used for VOCs. In our institution, we determine the fire hazard level of such equipment based on the fire hazard of the medium being treated; for example, if a Class A medium is being processed, the fire hazard classification of the recovery and treatment equipment is also set as Class A. Even at low concentrations, there is still a risk of combustion and explosion. The layout of the equipment should be determined based on the characteristics of the location in question. If it is located in a tank farm, then the layout of Class A process equipment must comply with both GB50074-2014 \"Code for Design of Oil Depots\" and GB50160-2008 \"Code for Fire Protection Design of Petrochemical Enterprises\", and the stricter of these standards shall be applied. In accordance with Table 4.2.12 of GB50160-2008 \"Code for Fire Protection Design of Petrochemical Enterprises\", the distance between Class A process units should be no less than 30 m (30 m is the specified distance for petrochemical plants; for refining plants, it is 25 m). The distance between a Class A process unit and the outer boundary of the facility should be no less than 25 m, and it should be no less than 35 m from the fire pump room (a Class II critical facility in the plant), as well as no less than 40 m from the office building (also a Class II critical facility in the plant).
