I haven’t placed an order yet. Are the equipment parameters available? You can ask several manufacturers to see if the equipment conditions are similar. Then, the reserved foundation or hole should be larger.
For setting-up equipment, the necessary basic conditions are only provided after it arrives; conditions that are proposed without accurate information are meaningless； If the foundation has already been laid and the materials delivered are completely different from what was planned, a lot of rework will be required
It depends. If it’s a relatively small, commonly used pump, generally no foundation is needed, nor are any special requirements specified. But if it’s a large pump that generates significant vibration, then it’s necessary to determine the equipment requirements first before considering the civil engineering aspects. For heat exchangers, once the heat exchange area and type are determined, it’s generally not a problem to specify a load requirement; the holes can simply be made larger, and the steel frame can be fabricated later ； All of the above are last-resort options; to establish the requirements for civil engineering work, it’s necessary to have a preliminary determination of the equipment required. Otherwise, there will be too many rework tasks and disputes among various parties.
You need to have some basic information first. For pumps: type of fluid, operating temperature/pressure, inlet head difference, flow rate, pipe diameter. For heat exchangers: types of hot and cold fluids, required inlet and outlet temperatures, space available, type of heat exchange configuration... If you don’t have this information, how can you ask manufacturers/design firms to assist you in evaluating feasibility?!
In terms of design, it is carried out according to the specifications provided for the design selection; if changes are needed, that is another matter.
