In general, during operation of a system, a high liquid level in the scrubber tower can lead to water being carried over to subsequent stages. The reason for this is that a high liquid level results in greater gas resistance and a larger pressure difference between the front and back sections; as a result, the liquid is lifted to a greater height as the gas flows. After being lifted, the liquid falls back down due to the force of gravity. When the liquid level is high, the gas directly lifts the liquid droplets and carries them away – is that correct? ????????
This phenomenon is colloquially called “liquid flooding” or also “liquid suspension”. If such a phenomenon occurs and it is man-made, it should be considered an accident, an operational accident.
It has nothing to do with the liquid level; the spray tower is equipped with packing, and a certain amount of liquid remains on this packing. There are also small water droplets in the spray, and these droplets are carried away by the airflow, resulting in entrainment. Installing a demister above the filler can reduce mist entrainment
An excessive feed rate, too much washing water, or a malfunctioning demister can all lead to mist entrainment.
