When gas and liquid are mixed in a static mixer, is there any difference between the two outlets? Which one is for the liquid and which one for the gas?
The liquid is injected from the top, while the gas passes horizontally through the mixer!
Is there some rule regarding this, or is it also better for fluids? I’m not quite sure

This depends on the process flow: whether the gas is mixed into the liquid or the liquid is mixed into the gas. The design varies accordingly, and the requirements for the mixture are different as well, which means the number of mixing units needed also changes

A static mixer uses several stationary mixing elements placed within pipes or devices to divide the fluid into multiple streams; as the immiscible fluids flow through the mixer, they undergo movements such as splitting, merging, and rotation, thereby achieving good dispersion and mixing effects; Static mixers are capable of producing small and uniformly sized droplets, which increases the specific surface area of the gas-liquid mixture as well as the mass transfer coefficient, thereby enhancing mass transfer and optimizing the entire process ; The design concept of flowing with the current is to increase the contact time between the gas and liquid phases, prolong the mass transfer time, and achieve thorough mixing ; Generally, in the design, the liquid phase is routed on the outside (which facilitates atomization), while the gas is routed on the inside ; Clean materials go outside (to prevent blockages); another stream goes inside ; Hazardous materials are handled internally (anti-static, such as oxygen), while other materials are handled externally ; These are my personal insights, drawn from experience in actual production, for mutual encouragement.
