Do steam pipelines need to be pressure-tested? Is it necessary to perform nitrogen leak testing or something like that?
Steam pipes belong to the thermal pipes among utility pipes; they are not necessary for small-scale domestic use, but when installed on a large scale, they must definitely be inspected. Generally, a hydrostatic test is carried out, and regular inspections are required.
In accordance with the requirements of Section 5, Chapter 4 of TSGD0001-2009, a pressure test and a gas-tightness test shall be conducted separately after the non-destructive testing is completed.
