Does concentrated sulfuric acid react with dimethyl ether?

Hello everyone, as the title asks, does concentrated sulfuric acid (98%) react with dimethyl ether? As can be seen from early literature, dimethyl ether is produced from methanol in the presence of a concentrated sulfuric acid catalyst; under these conditions, sulfuric acid does not react with dimethyl ether. I ask the experts here to help clarify this.
Will there be dehydration? Or does an esterification reaction occur?
Without hydroxyl groups, it shouldn’t dehydrate, right?
Dehydration is done at a 2:1 ratio of hydrogen to oxygen, right?
