I now want to build a process water treatment tank for oily wastewater with a concentration of less than 10,000 PPM. The inlet flow rate comes in two types: one is 35 tons/h, and the other is 65 tons/h. They can be operated separately or together. The size of the tank is determined by the type of storage tank you choose, such as vertical or horizontal tanks. Next, the tank capacity is determined based on the duration for which you want to store the material, and this capacity is then rounded to a standard value; the standard value includes details such as the diameter and length of the tank
This is a horizontal tank; there is no concept of storage time – goods are imported and then exported. Where can I find the standard capacity you mentioned?

For a capacity of 35 tons/h, use an inlet with DN100; for 65 tons/h, use an inlet with DN150. As for the size of the tank, if it operates continuously, a buffer time of around 15 minutes is sufficient; in that case, the size of the storage tank can be 100/4 = 25 m3. If the tank operates intermittently, then you need to take into account the storage time – the longer the storage time, the larger the storage tank needs to be. You must consider all these factors together.
When determining the pipe diameter, make use of the formula Q=U*A, where Q is the flow rate in M3/H, U is the flow velocity in M/S, and A is the cross-sectional area of the pipe in M2. As for the volume required… what needs to be considered first is how the equipment operates – batch mode, continuous mode, or what is the available space?
