Upon reviewing the design documents of a factory, it was found that flame arresters were installed on all Class C storage tanks. These flame arresters are needed to meet environmental regulations regarding the treatment of gases released from these tanks. For convenience, the gases released from these tanks are combined into one main pipeline alongside those from the adjacent Class A tank areas, so as to be sent for treatment together. Flame arresters have been installed on all of the dozens of Class C storage tanks. Is it possible?
The function of the flame arrester in Class C Type A storage tanks is to prevent fires in Class A tank areas from spreading to Class C tank areas. If the vent pipes of each Class C tank are connected to the Class A vent pipe, then a flame arrester should be installed on each Class C tank.
It is best to install separate moisture tanks for Class A and Class C vent gases before transporting them; otherwise, nitrogen pressure should be used for transportation, as combining them increases the risks associated with the processing operations
Suspend the use of the exhaust gas connection and recovery system for multiple chemical storage tanks immediately; it can be put into operation only after passing safety assessments.
In gas stations, both gasoline and diesel have separate vent pipes for venting. Currently, the venting of dozens of Class C storage tanks is carried out together with that of Class A tanks, which has a significant mutual impact and makes it difficult to ensure safety.
