The existing high-pressure steam is depressurized and cooled through a pressure reducing valve; a bypass valve has been installed to facilitate the maintenance and replacement of the control valve. Is this safe? Is the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet 2 MPa?
This is a commonly used standard setting.
The pressure difference issue isn’t a big problem; the issue is how to regulate pressure and temperature with the bypass valve, as manual adjustment makes it difficult to achieve the desired operating conditions
Under normal conditions, the temperature and pressure reducers are arranged in two sets side by side, with one set in operation and one set as a backup
It is recommended to use the same pressure reducing valve for the bypass valve
