How is the net positive suction head of a reciprocating pump calculated?

Dear sea friends, how is the net positive suction head of a reciprocating pump calculated? Are it the same formulas and steps as those used to calculate centrifugal pumps? Is a calculation sheet using a centrifugal pump sufficient? Just, is it not necessary to include a margin when making the final selection? Thank you!
