I want to measure the moisture content of that tank; I plan to add a sampling port at the bottom of the section where the flow meter is located. Will this affect the experimental data?
There are multiple discharge valves in this process, and an analysis point can be installed anywhere after them.
It is recommended to install a sampler above the drain valve of the on-site level gauge; this has less impact on other components, and a ball valve can be connected in series. That drain valve is a relief valve, and it doesn’t perform well after being used for a long time.
I think you can take a sample directly at the drain point on the pressure gauge
The sampling points can be located at various locations such as the pump outlet drain, the bottom of the level gauge, the discharge section of the flow meter, or the bottom of the storage tank. It is important to ensure that the samples taken are representative; the samples should not come from dead zones, and they must have the same composition as the material inside the tank, with no stratification or sedimentation
Based on the diagram provided, it is only appropriate to locate the sampling port at the position mentioned by the original poster; as long as there are no dead zones, sampling can proceed normally without affecting the experimental data.
Is it okay to use this method for supporting the horizontal pipe below your flow meter? Welded on the elbow for support.
