Dear sea friends, as far as we know, which locations currently have or plan to build butanediol (BDO) projects? General overview of the processConstructor: Inner Mongolia Sanwei New Materials Co., Ltd.
Investment Amount: 1,306,600 million yuan
Project Location: Hainan District, Wuhai City – Low-Carbon Industry Park
Construction Period: Expected to be from August 2021 to December 2026
Project Scope and Scale: Upon completion, the project will enable the production of 900,000 tons/year of 1,4-butanediol (BDO), 600,000 tons/year of biodegradable plastic PBAT, 300,000 tons/year of high-end polyether material PTMEG, as well as 100,000 tons/year of electronic-grade fine chemical product γ-butyrolactone (GBL) and 50,000 tons/year of N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP). Auxiliary facilities will also be constructed as part of this project. The project will be constructed in two phases. The first phase requires an investment of 8.7 billion yuan, and the construction activities will include the production of 600,000 tons per year of 1,4-butanediol (BDO), 300,000 tons per year of biodegradable plastic PBAT, and 120,000 tons per year of high-end polyether material PTMEG. Additionally, a combined facility for producing 720,000 tons per year of acetylene (calcium carbide) as a raw material, as well as a facility for producing 1.2 million tons per year of formaldehyde, will be built. The construction period is from August 2021 to August 2024. The second-phase investment amounts to 4.366 billion yuan. The construction scope includes facilities for producing 300,000 tons per year of BDO, 300,000 tons per year of biodegradable plastic PBAT, 180,000 tons per year of high-end polyether material PTMEG, as well as 100,000 tons per year of electronic-grade fine chemical product γ-butyrolactone (GBL) and 50,000 tons per year of NMP. Additionally, a combined facility for producing 360,000 tons per year of acetylene raw materials and a facility for producing 600,000 tons per year of formaldehyde will be built. The construction period is from March 2023 to December 2026. To ensure the progress of the project, Wuhai City has now given \"principle approval for modifying the 1.2 million-ton calcium carbide production facility in the low-carbon industrial park, to use it as a source of raw materials for the integrated new material industry project in Inner Mongolia.\" 3D Shares stated that its main business areas at present are the rail transit industry and the rubber products industry; for this investment project, it lacks any prior technical expertise, as well as no experienced technical or management personnel. Although 3D Shares has begun to assemble the relevant technical and management personnel, it has not yet taken shape as of now.
