Is it allowed to drain a small amount of methanol condensate containing some water into the sump? Does the pit need to be protected with nitrogen?
What are your concerns? What is the purpose of your idea? After all these years, it seems you’re not even able to ask questions properly; there’s no logic in what you say. Always in a hurry to get an answer that you might not even understand; doing many things without seeming to gain any experience from them
Methanol is flammable, explosive, and volatile; it must not be released casually. I don’t know if your pit is a sealed container; if so, it would be good to provide nitrogen protection
If there is a small amount of methanol in the water occasionally, this is understandable； However, if there is a small amount of water in methanol, and methanol is a flammable substance that counts as a hazardous material, it certainly cannot be discharged carelessly. The original poster has confused the primary and secondary causes.
Half methanol and half water – it’s not discharged carelessly; instead, the containers are used as underground concrete tanks to facilitate emptying. Would it be fine if those concrete tanks were also sealed with nitrogen?
