During the switching process of the liquid ring vacuum pump, it stops operating due to overload as soon as it tries to start. The exhaust valve at the pump outlet is fully open, the make-up air valve at the pump inlet is also fully open, and the liquid level is on the low side – the normal level is 30, while it is currently 22. What is the specific reason for the pause? Switching the other three units follows the same steps without any issues; only the unit with the highest power fails to start
All the other pumps are working normally; it’s only this one that shuts down due to overload. It’s possible that there is something stuck in this pump or that there’s excessive friction, and it needs to be repaired
Increase the current protection value for startup
Vacuum pump startup procedure: Open the exhaust valve fully and close the intake valve fully; turn on the working fluid, then start the motor and gradually open the intake valve. When the operator turns on the motor with both the intake and exhaust valves fully open, the motor will experience immediate overload as soon as it starts
One unit with the maximum power has stopped working. What was said on the 4th floor is correct; I need to check whether the clearance of the pump is too small. Additionally, I should check whether everything is properly matched as a backup solution
One possibility is friction or misalignment of the pump shaft; II. The protection current settings for the current transformers in the distribution room are unreasonable.
If only one of them is faulty, then it’s more likely to be a problem with the machinery itself…
1. Check whether there is any viscous substance in the pump chamber, as it increases the starting load. 2. Check the lubrication condition of the bearings on both sides; this is usually caused by damaged seals that result in ineffective lubrication. 3. Clogging of the imported filter screen causes underflow protection. Personal suggestions are for consideration only; let’s encourage each other in our studies.*
