Use of the DCS Trend Recording module in the Yokogawa VP system: The trend recording function, which is commonly used in DCS systems, allows for the recording of various data collected by HIS; the changes in these collected data are displayed on the trend chart. Trend charts can be used to monitor real-time parameters, retrieve historical parameters for analyzing the process operation, and more. Many production workers in factories can use the basic functions in trend charts proficiently, but they do not utilize many of the hidden functions available in them. This article provides an in-depth discussion on the functions of each component in the trend chart module of the Yokogawa VP system, as well as the methods for frequent operations and the use of hidden functions. Right-click functions: I. Right-click functions in the trend chart area. The menu that appears when right-clicking on the trend chart allows for the following actions: displaying index labels on the marks corresponding to indices, so as to show both the data and the time. Right-click menu operations via the relevant index markers can display or hide the index tags. Double-click at the arrow to display a label with data; double-click again to show a second label with data. Click the small arrows on the left and right side of the timeline to move the data display slowly. The right-click functionality in the legend display area allows for the quick deletion of individual, multiple, or all selected trend points. When analyzing data, it is possible to select unwanted trend points and add the ones needed quickly, thereby enabling a convenient and efficient arrangement of the data points. The Chinese localization of the Yokogawa Centum-VP system’s interface fits the usage habits well. Among them, the trend chart module boasts a wide range of functions; in actual factory operations, it is one of the most commonly used tools. However, many of its functions are not utilized effectively in practice. Through a detailed examination of the various operations and analyses available in the trend chart module, this article aims to provide assistance to frontline production staff, enabling them to use these functions for daily tasks in a convenient and efficient manner.
