I was wondering if there are detailed wiring diagrams for pneumatic valves and air supply pipes. Does this fall under the scope of the instrumentation field or the process engineering field? Bonus points given away
The piping diagrams for pneumatic valves and air supply pipes fall under the process engineering discipline. Common piping diagrams in the instrumentation field include pipeline diagrams used for instrument measurement, cable wiring diagrams used in control systems, piping diagrams, and calculation flowcharts.
Delivering instrument air to the pipeline near the pneumatic valve is part of the process design. The final section of pipeline leading to the pneumatic valve falls under the instrumentation discipline. However, the installation location of the instrument air supply points can be adjusted, and the diameter of the instrument air pipes is very small (DN8-10); in practice, most of these pipes are connected by the field instrument installers themselves. Pipes with a diameter of DN40 or less are generally not drawn on pipe diagrams either.
