On May 26, 2025, Corning announced the launch of the latest addition to its microchannel reactor (AFR) product line: the Low Flow Reactor System (LFR-2). This system consists of 2 sets of low-flow reactor modules, a laboratory feeding unit, and a temperature control unit. It is plug-and-play, offering flexibility and scalability, and can help users develop and process chemicals more efficiently. It is reported that Corning’s AFR team designed the LFR-2 using its continuous innovation capabilities; this system has the ability to integrate seamlessly with Corning’s existing range of AFR products, offering industry, academia, and research users a more inherently safer continuous flow technology that enables them to carry out flow chemistry research and development using fewer reagents in a more efficient and flexible manner. The Global Product Design and Engineering department at Corning Reactor Technology Company said, “Our close collaboration with customers around the world, combined with the decades of experience of the AFR team, enables us to provide key products for chemical development and processing using flow technology.” We are constantly seeking ways to make our products more flexible and scalable; LFR-2 ensures that our customers can carry out research and development more efficiently. ”
