Ineos introduces new Recycl-IN polymer with 70% recycled content 2026-02-03 14:49:14 Ineos Olefins and Polymers Europe has recently launched a new grade of Recycl-IN blended polymer with up to 70% recycled content, aimed at enhancing the sustainability of packaging for cosmetics that are sensitive to contact, while ensuring that product quality and performance are not compromised. In cosmetic packaging applications, this Recycl-IN hybrid polymer successfully combines strength, aesthetics, and processability; it not only increases the use of recycled materials significantly but also helps to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. This achievement is thanks to a technical approach that combines a high proportion of mechanically recycled plastics with advanced \"reinforcing\" polymers. The new grade rPP1025C possesses the stiffness required to maintain the shape of the packaging, offering a superior touch feel and reliable functionality. It also has scratch resistance and heat resistance, ensuring the stability of the product as well as its shelf life during storage and use. This natural-color polypropylene homopolymer is designed specifically for thin-wall injection molding and fiber extrusion processes, and is highly suitable for manufacturing rigid, colored, or translucent packaging components such as screw caps, can bodies and bottle caps, mascara applicators and caps, deodorant balls, spray lids, and various dispenser parts. Like all Ineos Recycl-IN grades, rPP1025C is a true ready-to-use solution whose quality is comparable to that of virgin polypropylene, while offering the environmental benefit of a 35% reduction in carbon footprint. To ensure the safety and compliance of the materials, the recycled materials used have received a letter of no objection from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and have been certified as post-consumer recycled materials under RecyClass, fully meeting the relevant requirements of the ISO 14021 environmental labeling standard. The introduction of this new grade marks the official launch of the second generation of Recycl-IN hybrid grades developed by Ineos for the cosmetics packaging industry, built on the basis of the previously successful product rPP2030C. Currently, Ineos offers a range of Recycl-IN blended ready-mixed polyolefin compounds that are widely suitable for both rigid and flexible applications in various fields such as automotive, construction, drainage systems, packaging, sports venues, warehousing, and textiles.
