On April 11, the 15,000-ton-per-year anhydrous hydrogen fluoride production facility of Sinochem Wuhuan Xiangyun Phosphorus-Fluorine New Materials (Hubei) Co., Ltd. completed the feeding of all materials in the entire process successfully; the trial operation and production were a complete success, yielding high-quality product with a purity of 99.9%. This significant breakthrough marks the implementation of key technologies in the field of green phosphorus and fluorine-based new materials in our province, providing another powerful driving force for Wuxue City to build a modern industrial system and accumulate new momentum for high-quality development. Zhonghua Wuhuan Xiangyun Phosphorus-Fluorine New Materials (Hubei) Co., Ltd. was established in April 2023, jointly funded by China Wuhuan Engineering Corporation and Hubei Xiangyun (Group) Chemical Co., Ltd. The company’s core project is its phosphorus-fluorine new materials initiative, which focuses on the efficient recovery of fluorine resources from phosphate mines to produce high-value-added new materials. As a key provincial construction project in Hubei Province, the anhydrous hydrogen fluoride project of Zhonghua Chemical Wuhuan Xiangyun Phosphorus-Fluorine New Materials utilizes a set of technologies independently developed by China Wuhuan Engineering Co., Ltd. It uses fluorosilicic acid, a by-product of wet phosphoric acid, as raw material, thereby enabling the resourceful recycling of industrial waste. This move not only resolves the environmental challenges associated with traditional phosphorus chemical industries but also addresses the key issues in the comprehensive utilization of fluorine resources; it represents a practical example of Wuxue City’s efforts to extend its industrial chains, enhance its value chains, and promote green manufacturing. The total investment in the first phase of this project, which is now in operation, is around 400 million yuan. Once fully operational, it will be able to generate an annual output value of 200 million yuan, with annual tax payments exceeding 20 million yuan, while also providing stable employment for 100 people. Economic, social, and ecological benefits emerge in synergy.
