The range specified in the design is calculated under theoretical conditions; before installation, the construction team must power on the instruments for calibration/recording, and these records are to be kept as part of the handover documents. After installation, a simple calibration check is required; tests run and actual feeding processes also need to be inspected, with calibration carried out based on the actual conditions.
Generally speaking, when installing and calibrating double-flange pressure transmitters, migration is used; this is a method employed when the zero point is not correct. The designed range is usually fine, but the zero point may be incorrect during installation.
When using a double-flange differential pressure transmitter to measure liquid level, the range of the liquid level, the density of the medium, and the exact installation positions of the two pressure-sensing flanges are generally determined during the design phase, and the measurement range is essentially already calculated. However, due to the influence of the relative position of the flange and the transmitter body during installation, the range will be shifted (the zero point is adjusted). Before installation, the transmitter must be sent to a standard calibration laboratory for calibration; its range is calculated theoretically based on the data sheet. After installation, configuration and migration must be carried out based on the actual situation.
Of course, it needs to be adjusted. By asking the workshop for the density of the material and the height of the tank, the measurement range can be calculated. Special attention must be paid to zero-point drift. Then, just enter it into the transmitter using a handheld device. But this is theoretical; if the conditions at the site are met, it is also possible to use upper and lower double-flange assemblies together with a manual operator to carry out the calibration. Personally, I think this method of calibration is quite accurate.
