The discontinuation of the XP system has caused difficulties in installing older DCS software

The DCS operation stations used in the past all ran on the XP operating system, but XP is no longer being produced; new computers are equipped with Windows 7. There are DCS systems from Hollyland, Inovance, and Yokogawa. After communicating with the technical staff from these manufacturers, it was learned that for Yokogawa systems, upgrading to Windows 7 is possible by replacing the main controller. However, there is yet no satisfactory solution for Inovance’s ECS100 system or Hollyland’s FM and SM systems. At present, pirated versions of XP are being used, but this approach poses risks due to instability. I wonder if anyone else has encountered such problems; it would be great to exchange ideas on this topic.

With the new operating system and virtual machines, Siemens has already started doing this
I bought some DELL T3600s as spares, hoping they’ll last until the renovation is done.
This issue can be resolved by using Windows 7 along with an XP virtual machine
