Seeking help with network issues on Yokogawa CENTUM VP: After BUS1 and BUS2 of the field control station lose connection, the CPU shows as offline. Once the network returns to normal, the network communication indicator lights flash as usual, but the CPU still shows as offline; the network diagnosis page also indicates a fault. After restarting the engineer station monitoring, both the network status and the CPU status show as normal. Why?
Is Yokogawa’s DCS good? I don’t think it’s good
Actually, once it’s mastered, it’s quite useful. Compared to other imported DCS systems, the Yokogawa system is also relatively cheaper
Was the controller updated during the network outage?
This only indicates that there may be a problem with the VI network card on your engineer station. Did you check the system status on other HIS sites at that time?

All operator stations and engineer stations have no data; the CPU shows as offline, and the control station cannot be pinged either. Normal operation was restored after restarting the monitoring software
Rebooting is a universal solution.
After the Yokogawa network is disconnected, it must be restarted; it cannot recover on its own. The same was true when checking the switch redundancy during the last major maintenance.
