Selection of uninterruptible power supply

Most DCS or PLC cabinets these days are equipped with UPS, namely uninterruptible power supplies. The question is: some models come without batteries while others have batteries as an additional option – how should one make a choice? How is charging and discharging done? How long is the cycle? Is it actually possible for each factory to strictly comply? Let’s discuss it together!
A UPS must be equipped with batteries, right? Without batteries, how can it continue to supply power in the event of an external power outage?
You mentioned that there is no external battery; in that case, for UPS units used with PLCs that have a small capacity, the battery pack is located inside the device and has a limited capacity. We usually choose to discharge it during major maintenance tasks.
First of all, I agree with what was said on the 2nd floor； Secondly, our factory also uses UPS units; they have been in use for 2 years now, with no interruptions and no instances of power loss. This is related to meeting our own requirements as well as adhering to relevant regulations, and it’s something that needs to be carefully managed by us!
It’s very advanced now; there’s no need for discharge, as the UPS systems are already designed accordingly.
